Cheekee Tales In School
Building Community Lead Stories
We believe tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau with different abilities hold the power to connect with others, amplify resilience and create change by leading their own stories.
Welcome to the Cheekee Tales In School page, where creativity, inclusivity, and community come together to inspire and empower the next generation. This page is dedicated to celebrating the incredible partnership between Cheekee Hero Charity and Ōrākei School, highlighting the transformative impact of the Cheekee Tales Art Programme on our students and the wider community.
Since 2021, the Cheekee Tales Art Programme has been a cornerstone of our collaboration with Ōrākei School. Designed to foster creativity and inclusivity, the programme encourages students to create original works of art and literature that reflect the core values of Ōrākei School. By engaging in this artistic process, students develop a deeper appreciation for diversity and a stronger sense of belonging.
We are thrilled to present the artworks of 8 talented Ōrākei School students. Each piece of art embodies the unique superpowers and missions of the student-created superheroes, celebrating their creativity and the values they represent.
Special thanks to:
Ōrākei Arts and the Ōrākei Local Board: Your generous grant was the foundation upon which this project was built. By funding the digitisation and lamination of the artwork, as well as the wood supplies for the frames, you have ensured that the students' creative expressions are preserved and beautifully presented. This display would not have been possible without your belief in our vision and your commitment to fostering art and inclusivity in our community.
Thank you.
