We've partnered with AWWA to become part of a collective of champion advocates.
"AWWA is derived from the Māori word 'awa' meaning river or flow. Māori referred to their period as te awa atua - the divine river, and this is the foundation of our brand. AWWA offers a world where every person can feel divine and empowered during their period."
As part of our Do Good 2023 campaign Cheeke Hero Charity is supporting hine ma; (female youth) with different abilities through AWWA's Designed to Give Programme.
By donating product, AWWA is able to instantly liberate individuals to go to school, work and remain an active participant in all aspects of their life and within their community.
Our role is a vital (re)introduction for our community into what is our greatest connection to our tupuna me taiao (ancestors and our environment) as wahine ma (women).
Cheekee Hero Charity is committed to providing AWWA underwear to those in our community who are most in need. Whilst providing education of product/s to ensure recipients understand how to effectively manage their ikura (period) while using AWWA and know how to care for their underwear.
It is our hope that by partnering with AWWA through their Designed to Give Programme we help hine ma in our community live a life with dignity and empower them to pursue greatness.
