AUT - Bachelor of Creative Technologies
Last year Cheekee Hero embarked on a journey to create our Cheekee Tales colouring-in book. Aimed at a young demographic that had an appetite for adventure and a strong desire to belong.
Chance would have it that AUT's Bachelor of Creative Technologies were looking for projects and Cheekee Hero just so happened to be in the right place. A seredipitous discovery.
In 2022 we presented out project (on line) to a room filled to the brim with buzzing creatives, all on their own journeys of design, innovation and creativity. We were very humbled to be approached by a group of students who's enthusiam and integrity shone brightly and whom all wanted to hop on the Cheekee Waka and sail this beautiful journey with us.
Our project centred around Cheekee our super bot being drawn by a child in hospital, coming to life through animation, augmented reality and 3D modelling. This would project would later serve as the starting blocks for our MVP.
This year we upped the ante and presented 4 projects (in the flesh) that we thought students could really get excited about:
- Cheekee Tales Art Project that promotes superheros of all abilities by way of a mural with 4 pre-determined creatures . Brought to life through animation and augmented reality
- A sensory board that uses creative technology to either soothe or spikes senses, teaches cause and effect, teaches fine motor skills and problem solving
- An E-sticker that measures the vital signs of the wearer: Temperature Blood oxygen Heart rate
- A smart wristband or bracelet that connects loved ones and sends electronic pulses to the wearer to lift spirits
Pleased to say we were inundated with with students who had many questions, ideas and requests.
In the coming weeks we'll find out which projects students have chosen.
