Eat Ice Cream For Breakfast Day
The 18th of February marks a very special day for the Peterson's.
"Malia Grace Peterson was born on February 18, 2001 and left this earth for the joy of heaven while sleeping on December 7, 2010. The 9 years in between those dates was a lifetime in which she touched countless lives with her energy, humor, laughter and hugs."
Eat Ice Cream For Breakfast Day falls on Malia's birthday and what started as a day of commemoration in 2013 has transformed into a global day of spreading awareness of childhood cancer in a way that in spite of the circumstances, joy and hope will always burn bright.
Eat Ice Cream For Breakfast Day has reached the sunny shores of Aotearoa, New Zealand and we as a whānau and a Charity are so blessed to be part of this beautiful movement. We've teamed up with the funky souls at Island Gelato Co. to bring joy to Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland with an abundance of hope and a double scoop of freshness and flavour to fill your heart and inspire you to Do Good in the world, if only for a day!
"Malia loved being a student and always looked forward to being at school and church with her friends. She loved animals, playing soccer and being outside, watching movies and playing video games. Malia was strong willed from the day she entered the world to the day she left it, but with that will came an unquenchable joy and passion for living and loving like no other."
We encourage you all, no matter what part of the world you live in to eat ice cream for breakfast on the 18th February and join a movement that sincerely speaks to the joy of children.
