Bike Gold
Every year, Cheekee Hero Charity strives to amplify the impact of our Bike Gold project. Keep an eye out for our gold bikes adorning the streets, carrying a heartfelt poem that pays tribute to the courageous Angels who fought valiantly. This initiative is just one of the many kaupapa (initiative) we support to raise awareness of childhood cancer.
The significance of the poem lies in its poignant reminder of the joy and laughter children brought to their bikes before their battles with cancer. As we honour their memory, we also strive to create a world where childhood cancer no longer exists-a world where perfect health and happiness prevail.
Our gold bikes serve as a visual representation of the strength, resilience, and hope that emanate from these young warriors. By colouring the bikes gold, we aim to symbolise their unwavering spirit and the importance of raising awareness for childhood cancer.
You too can make a difference by joining us in wearing gold during the month of September, a time dedicated to shedding light on childhood cancer. Whether it's a gold ribbon pinned to your lapel, a gold bracelet adorning your wrist, or a golden accessory proudly displayed, wearing gold serves as a powerful statement of solidarity and support.
As we move forward, Cheekee Hero Charity plans to make this event bigger and bolder each year. We are committed to expanding our reach, fostering greater awareness, and uniting communities in the fight against childhood cancer. Together, we can create a world where children can ride their bikes in carefree joy, knowing that childhood cancer has become a thing of the past.
How Perfect That Would Be
"I used to have a rider
but now I sit here.
A child used to ride me
and used to laugh and cheer.
Help us spread awareness
we need your support, you see.
A world without childhood cancer.
How perfect that would be."
