A Cheekee Run
More than just a run!
This year Ōrākei School will hold its annual Cheekee Run on the 11th of November 2022, and we couldn't be more excited. If last year is anything to go by then we're in for a real treat.
The inaugural Cheekee Run was held last year on the 12th of March 2021, with all proceeds going to support Child Cancer Foundation.
This year our focus is to connect with all tamariki (children), amplify their joy and create an environment where everyone can participate
The theme is all things superhero and gold of course! With a focus on Kindness and helping our tamariki (children) understand the importance of being kind and caring for one another, especially those who face daily challenges.
Proceeds from the Cheekee Run will be gifted to Ōrākei School Special Education Needs Unit to help support their diverse community and elevate their presence in Ōrākei School and the local area.
We can't wait to see our kaiako (teachers) and tamariki (children) all dressed up as superheroes or wearing gold and busting out some mean moves again.
Ōrākei School is nestled in the beautiful suburb of Ōrākei and has a wonderful āhua (aura) of diversity and equality and Lox just so happens to attend this very awesome school.
Massive shout out to Ōrākei School for embracing this kaupapa. You guys rock the planet!
