Cheekee Hero is a whānau-led grassroots charity.
We are dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and raising awareness of tamariki (children), rangatahi (teenagers), and their whānau (families) with different abilities.
Our tagline, CONNECT - AMPLIFY - CREATE CHANGE, represents our core values. We strive to connect families with different abilities, amplify their unique strengths, and create meaningful change through collaborative partnerships with other charities, organisations, schools and individuals.
Our impact is driven by our super robot named Cheekee, who inspires children to recognise that neurodiversity, disability, and illness can change the world for the better. Through the kindness, resilience, and joy of all children, Cheekee grows stronger and is fueled by the positive impact our community creates.
Through our work we make everyone feel connected because we believe that stories can heal, inspire and change lives. Our mission is to harness the power of storytelling as a superpower that supports the health and well-being outcomes of children and youth facing significant health issues.

"I was introduced to Cheekee Hero, as part of my project and placemaking work for the Orakei Local Board, supporting local community groups with their projects. Jazz and her whanau are an inspiration, not only in meeting their own challenges, but with their passion and energy to help and make a difference to other families on the same journey. It was wonderful seeing the local Community supporting Cheekee Hero, fundraising to give back to the Child Cancer Foundation, by volunteering for the National Street Appeal - it was an awesome day! It is a pleasure and a privilege to support Cheekee Hero on this and other projects as they continue to shine a light on child cancer. Glow gold!"
